Fire-resistant power cable with copper conductors and a mica fire barrier
VVGng(A)-FRLS — fire-resistant power cable with copper conductors, a mica-containing fire barrier, and insulation and sheath of low-fire-hazard PVC compound. Maintains circuit integrity under fire for at least 90 minutes at a temperature of 750°C per GOST R 53316. Used in fire protection systems, emergency lighting, firefighting lifts and at facilities with large numbers of people. Designation breakdown: FR — Fire Resistant, ng(A) — does not propagate flame, category A, LS — Low Smoke (low smoke emission).
Sizes with actual technical specifications. The geometry is similar to VVG; fire resistance is provided by the mica fire barrier and the PVC formulation.

VVGng(A)-FRLS — fire-resistant power cable for critical loads that must keep operating even during a fire. These include automatic fire suppression and smoke extraction systems, emergency lighting, evacuation lifts and sprinkler system pumps.
How it works: around each conductor is wound a tape containing mica — a mineral with a melting point above 1300°C. When conventional PVC insulation breaks down in fire, the mica layer remains intact and continues to insulate the conductor. Per GOST R 53316, the cable must maintain circuit integrity at 750°C for at least 90 minutes — enough time to evacuate people and extinguish the fire.
In addition, the insulation and sheath are made of low-fire-hazard PVC (ng, category A) with low smoke and gas emission (LS) — this reduces smoke toxicity and improves visibility on escape routes.
Conductors
Stranded copper, round or sector-shaped, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 cores.
Fire barrier
Mica-containing tape applied over each conductor. Maintains the integrity of the insulation at a fire temperature of ≥ 750°C for at least 90 minutes.
Insulation
Low-fire-hazard PVC compound, with colour coding of the cores.
Stranding
The insulated cores are stranded into a core.
Sheath
Low-fire-hazard PVC compound with low smoke and gas emission (LS – Low Smoke). Orange – the standard colour for fire-resistant cables.
Cross-section of VVGng(A)-FRLS – orange low-fire-hazard sheath, golden mica tape around each conductor
