PVBV

6-35 kV armoured power cable with copper conductors and XLPE insulation

PvBV is the armoured version of PvV for installation in ground. The construction includes armour of two galvanised steel tapes and an outer sheath. It is used in 6-35 kV distribution networks for installation in trenches, tunnels and under mechanical loads. Designation breakdown: Pv – XLPE, B – armour (steel tapes), V – PVC outer sheath.

Description of PvBV cable

PvBV is the armoured version of PvV for installing medium-voltage trunk lines in ground. The double steel tape armour and the outer PVC sheath protect the cable from excavation work, ground subsidence, frost heave and other mechanical impacts.

It is used for 6-35 kV urban cable lines, for supplying the substations of large consumers (industrial enterprises, data centres, airports) and for trunk routes between substations. It is installed in groups of 3 single-core cables or in a three-core version.

Applications

Installation in ground in 6-35 kV distribution networks
Trunk routes between transformer substations
Power supply to industrial enterprises, data centres and critical loads
Installation in tunnels and cable ducts subject to mechanical loads
Ground with a high susceptibility to frost heave
