Flat household wire with aluminium conductors
APUNP is a household wire with aluminium conductors in PVC insulation and a common PVC sheath. Its flat shape makes it convenient for installation in walls and under plaster. Designation breakdown: A – aluminium, P – flat, U – installation, N – for fixed installation, P – plastic sheath.

APUNP is a flat aluminium household wire for concealed installation in the walls of residential buildings under plaster. It is used in lighting and low-current power networks. It is intended for electrical networks protected against current overloads and short circuits by circuit breakers. Rated voltage up to 250 V at 50 Hz.
The aluminium conductors make the wire cheaper than its copper counterpart PUNP, but they require care during connection: Al-Cu connectors are needed for joining to copper terminals in order to prevent electrochemical corrosion. Current building regulations (SNiP) restrict the use of aluminium wiring in residential construction – PUNP or PuV installation wires are recommended.
