SIPN-2

Flame-retardant self-supporting wire with an insulated neutral core

SIPn-2 is a version of SIP-2 with flame-retardant insulation. 3 insulated phase conductors + an insulated neutral messenger of aluminium alloy; the insulation is flame-retardant UV-stabilised cross-linked polyethylene. It is used for 0.4 kV trunk overhead lines with enhanced fire safety requirements and for the reconstruction of existing lines.

Voltage 0.6/1 kV
Conductor Al alloy
Cores 3+1 (insulated neutral)
Feature Flame-retardant

SIPn-2 PRODUCT RANGE

Description of SIPn-2 wire

SIPn-2 is a modification of SIP-2 with flame-retardant insulation. The index “n” in the designation per GOST 31946-2012 (Amendment No. 1) means that the UV-stabilised cross-linked polyethylene of the insulation is made of a flame-retardant compound. The conductors, cross-sections and mechanical characteristics are the same as for SIP-2: the maximum conductor temperature is +90°C in normal operation and +250°C under short circuit.

Like SIP-2, it has an insulated neutral messenger. The difference is its behaviour in a fire: the insulation does not support the propagation of flame along the wire, which is important for installation on building facades and in densely built-up areas.

The wire is intended for the same lines as SIP-2 — 0.4 kV trunk overhead lines — but with enhanced fire safety requirements.

Applications

0.4 kV trunk overhead lines with enhanced fire safety requirements
Reconstruction of existing overhead lines with improved fire safety
Urban and rural networks close to residential buildings
Installation on building facades and in densely built-up areas
Industrial facilities with enhanced fire safety requirements

Construction
