Flame-retardant single-core covered conductor for 6-20 kV overhead lines
SIPn-3 is a version of SIP-3 with flame-retardant insulation. A single-core covered conductor with an aluminium alloy conductor and protective insulation of flame-retardant UV-stabilised cross-linked polyethylene. It is used for 6-20 kV overhead lines with enhanced fire safety requirements and for the reconstruction of existing lines.

SIPn-3 is a modification of SIP-3 with flame-retardant protective insulation. The index “n” in the designation per GOST 31946-2012 (Amendment No. 1) means that the UV-stabilised cross-linked polyethylene of the insulation is made of a flame-retardant compound. The conductor, cross-sections and mechanical characteristics are the same as for SIP-3: the maximum conductor temperature is +90°C in normal operation and +250°C under short circuit.
A single-core covered conductor for 6-20 kV overhead lines. It combines the advantages of SIP-3 (protective insulation against contact with branches, operation in type II/III atmospheres) with flame retardancy — this is important for lines close to buildings and in forested areas.
The wire is intended for the same lines as SIP-3, but with enhanced fire safety requirements.
