AKVVG is the aluminium version of KVVG. Solid aluminium conductors in PVC insulation for 660 V switchgear. It is used for trunk runs of control circuits where the savings from Al are justified. Designation breakdown: A – Al conductors; the rest is as for KVVG.

AKVVG cable description

AKVVG is the aluminium version of KVVG for trunk runs of control circuits. It is used at large power and industrial facilities with extensive wiring, where the savings from using aluminium become significant. Its specifications and applications are identical to KVVG, but because of the higher resistivity of Al the minimum cross-section is limited to 2.5 mm².

Please note: when connecting to Cu terminals, special Al-Cu connectors are required to prevent electrochemical corrosion. For low-current, high-sensitivity circuits, KVVG is the better choice.
