MG

Bare flexible copper wire for movable connections

MG is a flexible bare copper wire of flexibility class 5 per GOST 22483. It consists of fine copper wires in tight stranding, which ensures high flexibility. It is used for movable connections: current-carrying jumpers of mobile equipment, welding shunts and flexible contacts in switchgear. Designation breakdown: M – copper, G – flexible.

Conductor Copper, flexible
Cross-section 1.5 – 400 mm²

MG wire description

MG is a flexible bare copper wire of flexibility class 5 per GOST 22483. A large number of fine copper wires in tight stranding provides high flexibility and resistance to repeated bending.

It is used wherever a flexible uninsulated copper connection is required: flexible jumpers between the fixed and moving parts of switchgear, welding machine shunts, flexible current-carrying links and earthing of mobile machinery. The small bending radius (3ר) and high flexibility make MG indispensable for demanding installation tasks.

Applications

Movable current-carrying connections in switchgear
Flexible shunts for welding machines and contact connections
Jumpers between the fixed and moving parts of equipment
Earthing of mobile machinery (cranes, excavators)
Manufacture of flexible current-carrying harnesses and conductors

Construction

1

Copper wires

Fine copper wires of flexibility class 5 per GOST 22483. A large number of fine wires (up to hundreds in the larger cross-sections) gives high flexibility.

2

Tight stranding

With a short lay length to retain flexibility under repeated bending. No insulation.

MG cross-section – a bundle of fine, tightly stranded copper wires
