New-generation heat-resistant steel-reinforced aluminium conductor
AT3S / AT3SP are new-generation heat-resistant conductors for overhead lines with increased current-carrying capacity. The outer layers are made of a heat-resistant aluminium-zirconium alloy (Al-Zr) that withstands continuous heating up to +210°C and up to +240°C in emergency mode (vs +70°C for standard AS). This makes it possible to increase the transmitted current without replacing towers and fittings. Service life is 45 years. Designation breakdown: AT3S – heat-resistant aluminium of type 3 with a steel core, AT3SP – the same with shaped (trapezoidal) wires.

AT conductors (AT1S, AT1SP, AT3S, AT3SP) are new-generation heat-resistant steel-reinforced aluminium conductors (ACSR). The outer layers are made not of ordinary A5E aluminium but of a special heat-resistant aluminium-zirconium alloy (Al-Zr). This allows the conductor to operate continuously at +150°C (AT1S) or +210°C (AT3S) without loss of strength or elongation – compared with +70°C for standard AS.
Main advantages vs AS:
Used for the reconstruction of existing overhead lines to increase their capacity without replacing the towers. Particularly effective in areas where the construction of new routes is restricted – the route stays the same, while the transmission capacity almost doubles.
Steel core
Stranded galvanised steel wires. Carries the mechanical load.
Outer layers
Made of a heat-resistant aluminium-zirconium alloy (Al-Zr). Withstand continuous heating up to +210°C (AT3S) or +240°C (in emergency mode). AT3SP has shaped (trapezoidal) wires to reduce the outer diameter.
